Specification for LAGUNE® - BASE

DESCRIPTION
This patio overhead covering consists of an aluminium construction with integrated Fixscreen technology that can be opened or closed, depending on the weather. Due to its design, the sun protection is integrated completely into the structure, giving everything an aesthetic unity.
The overhead covering is attached onto a rear, bearing structure. A water-tight finish (in accordance with the addition situation) to a side construction is also possible.
The external sun screen consists of a fabric roller blind that keeps out direct sunlight while partly maintaining the view.
A zip is welded onto the screen, which runs in the side channels via a guide system and is provided extra tension using a tensioning system integrated into the fabric roller barrel.
An innovative fabric that is water-tight, sun-resistant and translucent is used.
The combination of RENSON Fixscreen technology, the optimal fabric tension and this innovative fabric ensures that the rainwater that strikes the fabric can be drained via hidden channels (side beams and bottom rail). Due to the integrated water-drainage system, all of the rainwater that strikes the fabric can be drained off, even when the fabric has not been rolled out completely.

INSTALLATION
"The modular construction makes it easy to expand the product, even much later. No-one will be able to tell whether the expansion was done immediately or at a later date. The possible expansions are:
- Frontfix('en) Integration = Vertical fabric sun protection (with zip) in the front bar of the basic structure

- Sidefix('en) Integration = Vertical fabric sun protection (with zip in the side of the basic structure
(see Sidefix specification)
- Light Integration = LED lighting integrated in the side beams
- Beam with Heat (and Sound) Integration = Heating (and loudspeakers) integrated into the design module

"This overhead protection is always placed in front of a rear, bearing structure. There are four different addition scenarios possible:
Addition scenario 1: Standard – In front of a rear structure (AS1)
- Addition scenario 2: In front of a left and right structure (AS2)
- Addition scenario 3: In front of a rear and left structure (AS3
- Addition scenario 4:) In front of a rear and right structure (AS4)
Depending on the choice of the addition scenario, different finishing profiles to the adjoining structure will be used.

When starting installation, an auxiliary profile (wall profile) is used to align the wall brackets correctly. Those brackets are the elements that bear the overhead covering and they are therefore placed rigid against the rear, bearing structure. The fabric roll for the zenital sun protection is hooked into these brackets.

DIMENSIONS
"This overhead protection is available in sizes between a minimum of 1.5 m and 12 m wide and depths of between 1.5 m and 5 m. Depending on the width, there are four basic models:
- Basic model 1: 1.5 ≤ width ≤ 4 m
- Basic model 2: 4 m < width < 6 m
- Basic model 3: 6 m < width ≤ 8 m
- Basic model 4: 8 m < width ≤ 12 m"
With a height ≤ 2.5 m, it is possible to integrate vertical sun protection in the overhead patio covering.

Depending on the area over the overhead covering (width x depth), drainage gutters will be integrated into the columns.

BOX
The fabric housing for the zenital sun protection is 330 mm deep and 250 mm high.
This fabric housing consists of 5, aluminium-extruded profiles. The rear of the housing is a wall profile that ensures that the brackets are aligned correctly. This wall profile is placed against a rear structure over its entire length. Where the fabric goes into the housing, brushes have been provided both top and bottom along the entire length of the housing. That reduces the dirt, the wind and the noise.
The sides of the fabric housing both have two aluminium side consoles that can serve as finishing.
"Depending on the width/configuration of the Lagune, there are two types of front bars (with fabric housing).
- Small front bar: If all of the Front-section widths ≤ 4 m (depth 158 x height 190) If even one Front-section width > 4 m (depth 158 x height 230)

Both types of front bars have a rear profile that is screwed into the gutter and a front profile that is hinged in the gutter. Those 3 profiles are made of extruded aluminium.
When the front bar does not have a fabric roll, an extra aluminium profile is used, making the housing completely closed.
The sides of the front bar at the gutter both have an aluminium side console, which serves as a finishing for the front bar. At the rear and front profile, the front bar is screwed between the columns.
A drainage gutter is integrated into the front bar, which is also part of the basic structure, and a fabric roll can also be integrated.

FABRIC ROLLER
The roller barrel with fabric groove is made of ø135 mm galvanised steel with a wall thickness of ±3,9 mm.
The fabric roller barrel has a recessed fabric groove to limit compression of the fabric strap.
The end pieces are conical to compensate for the thicker ends of the zip.
Also have a belt pulley to wind up.
In the fabric tube there is a motor tube that is part of the tensioning system.
"Depending on the choice of the installation method, the fabric roll can be removed upwards or downwards:
- Installation method 4: Placeable/removable downwards
- Installation method 8: Placeable/removable upwards"

FABRIC
"Rensonscreen® Waterproof using Rachel Trameur method) This innovative fabric is made in a fine mesh, woven using the special Rachel Trameur weaving technique with the basis in extra durable polyester. (Fire classification M1/M2, depending on the colour). A transparent PVC coating has been applied on top of that, making the fabric translucent and yet water-tight!
The vertical borders have a zip and the fabric eyelets on the top and bottom are high-frequency welded."
All screens are made from one piece of fabric unless the height is > the width of the fabric roller. A welded horizontal seam (parallel with the box) is then needed.
Weight Rensonscreen® Waterproof (with Rachel Trameur - method) : ±455 g/m², thickness ±0.50 mm.

TENSIONING SYSTEM
The system is tensioned using a permanently pretensioned belt. Pretensioning is achieved using torsion springs located on the motor barrel. The motor barrel is located in the fabric roller barrel. There are belt pulleys on the left and right-hand sides of the fabric roller barrel. The belt starts at this pulley, and is then routed across the alignment wheel and via another pulley into the bottom rail runner. The belt is looped around the runner.

SIDE CHANNELS
The single side beams (height 130 x width 105 mm) are made of extruded aluminium. Those side beams are five-fold and self-bearing. The single side beams, which are used when they installation is being finished to be water-tight against a structure, are a little bit wider (high 130 x width 109 mm).
The double side beams (height 130 x width 179 mm) are made of extruded aluminium. Those side beams are seven-fold and self-bearing.
A hidden drainage gutter is provided in the side beams so that the rainwater that strikes the fabric can be drained via the bottom rail and the side beams into the drainage gutter.
Those side beams combine with the trolleys to provide a level of mechanical security on the bottom rail.
The side beams are equipped with tracks for the wheels of the trolleys of the bottom rail. That ensures that the bottom rail runs perfectly when it moves.
On one side, the side beam is slid over the pin of the fabric roll and made fast. On the other side, the side beam is attached to the front bar.
There is an H-PVC side channel integrated into each side channel/side beam± the side channel has neoprene buffer zones (60 mm long) to withstand the wind gusts. The zip, which is welded to the fabric, is slid onto those H-PVC side channels and the fabric is ‘held fast’ in that way. When installed correctly, there is sufficient clearance between the screen and the aluminium side beams/side channels and the H-PVC side guides to ensure smooth operation.

BOTTOM RAIL
The bottom rail (67 mm W x 140 mm H) is made of extruded aluminium. The sides of this profile are fitted with a left and right trolley.
A black H-PVC leaf-catcher has been provided in the bottom rail’ that stops the dirt so the drainage channels do not get clogged.

GUIDE SYSTEM
Along with the tightening system, the side beams provide the ideal guide for the fabric when the roof sun protection moves to open or close.

COLOUR
All of the visible aluminium profiles and extruded aluminium parts are coated in RAL colour (60 micron to 80 micron).

ASSEMBLY
All items are secured using stainless steel screws.
These parts are virtually invisible.

OPERATION
"Electrical: using a 230 VAC tubular motor, without manual override.
The connection is included in the sun protection set.
The power supply and all wiring are included in the electrical set."
The tubular motor has an internal electronic safety so that the bottom rail can block if there is an obstruction.

POWER SUPPLY AND WIRING
The power supplies up to the relay boxes are included in the electrical set in accordance with the wiring diagram provided by the supplier. Wiring is provided from the relay boxes to each motor, including control switches and automatic actuators with measuring devices. The electrician will also fit a junction box to each motor for later connection of the motor cable by the sun screen installer. If sufficiently long, the motor cable can be connected directly without a junction box.
The electrical wires are completely integrated into the patio overhead covering making them almost invisible.
